The Bulldogs were dealt their first loss of the season, an 85-63 loss to the Siena Heights Saints at the SHU Fieldhouse. Adrian falls to 4-1 on the season, while the Saints (ranked 12th in the last NAIA poll) improve to 9-2.
With the win, the Saints, captured the famous Milk Jug trophy for the first time since the 2001-02 season and gained revenge from two previous losses to the Bulldogs.
Adrian fell into an early hole, but climed to within 29-22 on a three-pointer by Mark Bohlen, but SHU went on a 13-2 run in the final five mintues of the first half. The Saints led 42-24 at the break.
The Bulldogs had a better second half, but couldn't get back into the contest as SHU matched Adrian with hot shooting.
For the game, Adrian shot 36 percent from the floor, while the Saints shot 55 percent.
Bohlen led the Bulldogs with 15 points, while Brian Schaefer added 13 points and five assists. Billy Collins Jr. drained 10 points, while Anthony Thornton grabbed 11 rebounds and Mike Lewis snatched 10.
Greg McPherson led Siena Heights with a game-high 18 points.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Saturday, December 11 at 3 p.m. when they travel to North Central College in Chicago, Illinois. North Central is undefeated this year, standing at 5-0.
