Following the victory, the Crusaders improve to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the OAC while the Pioneers fall to 1-6 and 0-2 in the conference.
The Crusaders scored first and never trailed in the game and their biggest lead of the first half was 17 as they headed to the lockers with a 59-42 lead. Senior Eric Rosenbeck scored all 11 points of his career-high in the first 20 minutes.
In the second half the Crusaders built a 41 point lead when freshman Brad Buckner scored a layup with 4:45 left in the game. The Crusaders then would cruise to the 127-100 victory, which is 11 points short of the school's single-game scoring record.
Senior Jake Beck scored a game-high and career best 37 points in the game. The three other players with career highs was; senior David Kalb poured in 20 points, freshman Jake Meisler with 11 points and Buckner who finished with 10 points.
Capital returns to The Capital Center on Saturday (Dec. 11) when play in the first game of a men's and women's doubleheader with Mount Union College. The men's game will tip-off at 1 p.m. followed by the women at 3 p.m.
NOTES: Capital set an OAC record for assists with 39 in the game.
