Macalester 75, St. Olaf 61

ST. PAUL, Minn. — December 8, 2004 -- Erik Jackson scored 27 points and became the 17th player in the history of the program to reach 1,000 career points as he led Macalester to a 75-61 MIAC win Wednesday over visiting St. Olaf. Jackson knocked down 7-of-10 from three-point range.

Tom Conboy added 18 points and Brad Liddell had 12 for the Scots (3-5, 2-2 MIAC). Wes McFarland contributed eight points, nine rebounds and five assists.

Andy Grimsrud scored 20 points on a 9-for-12 shooting performance and grabbed seven rebounds to lead St. Olaf (4-2, 1-2 MIAC). Jon Butala chipped in 12 points.

St. Olaf jumped to a 28-18 lead after 12 minutes of play and led 40-32 at the intermission by shooting 53% from the field. Jackson started the second half with a three-pointer to reach the 1,000-point plateau and Macalester started the second half off with a 21-2 run to take a 53-42 lead. The Scots out-scored the Oles 43-21 in the second half and Macalester shot 58% from the field.
