Colby-Sawyer 69, University of New England 56

BIDDEFORD, Maine — BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Senior forward Chris Condon (Reading, Mass.) had game highs of 20 points and 13 rebounds to power the Colby-Sawyer College Chargers past the University of New England 69-56 in a Commonwealth Coast Conference game played at the Campus Center.

Condon scored 14 points in the first half as the Chargers assumed a 35-28 lead at the break. Colby-Sawyer held UNE scoreless over the initial 4:45 to take a 6-0 advantage, and never trailed at any point during the contest.

The Nor'easters sliced the Chargers' lead to six (48-42) with 13:18 to play, but Colby-Sawyer held UNE to just three field goals over the next 12 minutes to pull away.

Sophomore Tyler Fournier (Westbrook, Maine) contributed 16 points to the winners' attack, while junior Andrew St. Clair (Pittsfield, Maine) tallied all 10 of his points after halftime. St. Clair added nine boards and three steals.

Junior Mark Regis (Monroe, N.H.) scored 16 points, including three 3-pointers, in a losing effort. First-year guard John Marriott (Fairfax, Vt.) supported with 15 points and Matt McManus added 13.

Colby-Sawyer (4-1, 2-0) hosts Bowdoin College for a non-conference game Thursday, while the University of New England (3-3, 0-2) plays host to Thomas College.
