Ramapo improves to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the NJAC, while Rutgers-Camden falls to 0-5 and 0-3. It was the most points allowed by Rutgers-Camden since a 120-54 loss to Rowan Jan. 17, 1996, and the 55-point margin was the Raptors’ largest defeat since a 57-point loss to Richard Stockton (114-57) Jan. 26, 2000.
Ramapo built a 71-29 halftime lead and ended up shooting 52.3 percent from the floor (45-for-86) in the game. The Roadrunners shot 53.8 percent from three-point range (14-for-26) and held a commanding 61-32 advantage off the boards.
Rutgers-Camden went 22-for-64 (34.4) from the floor, including 8-for-29 from three-point range (27.6).
Lowber added 10 rebounds to his 24 points as he was one of three Roadrunners to produce a double-double. Senior guard Amin Wright (Jersey City, NJ/Ferris) almost had a triple-double, scoring 16 points, grabbing 12 rebounds and adding nine steals. He also dished off a game-high six assists.
Freshman forward Shawn Frost (Newark, NJ/Our Lady of Good Counsel) had 12 points and 11 rebounds for Ramapo, while sophomore guard John Wojcik (Sayerville, NJ/Sayerville) scored 15 points and freshman guard Ahmad Mosby (Jersey City, NJ/St. Anthony) added 13.
Ramapo placed 13 players in the scoring column.
Rutgers-Camden was paced by freshman guard Amir Fantroyal (Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek), who scored 17 points and added five steals. Junior guard Paul Turkot (Haddon Township, NJ/Haddon Township) scored a career-high 16 points, while freshman guard Kenny Yu (Queens, NY/Townsend Harris) had 13 points and junior forward Josh Kennedy (Westmont, NJ/Haddon Township) added 12.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Monday when they travel to Widener University for a 7 p.m. non-conference game. Ramapo hosts NJAC foe Montclair State Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
