New York University 93, Stevens 55

NEW YORK — The New York University men`s basketball team rolled past Stevens Institute of Technology 93-55 on Saturday afternoon, December 4, at the Coles Sports Center in Manhattan.

Leading 16-14 midway through the first half, NYU scored the next 13 points en route to a 52-31 halftime advantage.

The Violets (3-1) continued to increase their lead throughout the second half and took a game-high 40-point advantage, 93-53, on Alex Sprinzen`s three-pointer with just 19 seconds remaining.

Five Violets scored in double-figures, led by Jason Boone`s 15 points. He also had a team-high five rebounds, as NYU out-boarded Stevens Tech 40-22.

Jeff Gilkerson added 13 points for NYU, while Jimmy Janeczek, Michael DeCorso and Bobby Serafin each had 10 points. Janeczek also had a game-high six assists.

NYU shot 64.8% from the field in the game, as Boone (7-7), Gilkerson (5-5), and Serafin (4-4) connected on all of their field goal attempts.

Tim Williams led Stevens Tech (2-4) with 14 points.
