Colby 73, Maine-Farmington 71

FARMINGTON, Maine — Patrick McGowan had 27 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals in leading the Colby College men's basketball team to a 73-71 overtime win against University of Maine at Farmington on Saturday.

McGowan shot 10-for-16 from the field and was 7-for-9 from 3-point range. Besides his four assists, McGowan had no turnovers in the game.

The Mules trailed 24-21 at halftime after shooting just 27 percent from the field. Colby got in gear in the second half with 53 percent shooting, but Farmington also played well and shot 55 percent in the second half. The Mules outscored UMF (4-2) by a 9-7 margin in overtime.

Michael Westbrooks added 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists for Colby. Andrew Jenkins also had 12 points and Mike Rutherford continued his solid play off the bench with 11 points, six rebounds and four assists. Jared Cushman had nine points, five rebounds and four steals.

Travis Magnusson led UMF with 22 points.
