After a Ryan Burgart basket, UMHB (4-2, 2-2) seemed to have the game won, as they had a 12-point lead with only 5:56 remaining. That's when LC kicked things into high gear.
LC quickly cut the lead to six after three-point baskets by Casey Meador, who led LC with 20 points, and Kase Gonzales. LC (4-2, 3-1) wouldn't get any closer than that for the next two plus minutes, but with 1:48 remaining, LC's Chris Campbell put back a T.J. Drew missed shot and was fouled in the act. Campbell then hit the free throw to put LC within four.
After a turnover by UMHB's Michael Blaylock, LC cut the UMHB lead to one with a Casey Meador three-point basket with one minute left. Then with only 11 seconds remaining, Meador was fouled while tying to chase down a missed UMHB shot. Meador calmly hit both free throws to put LC up by one. UMHB's Brandon Gatlin then missed UMHB's last shot and LC claimed the victory.
The win keeps LC in at least a tie (depending on what the other ASC Eastern teams did) for first place in the ASC East.
LC's next game will be on Tuesday at Mississippi College.
