Knox 100, MacMurray 69JACKSONVILLE, Il. — MacMurray College fell to 2-5 this afternoon at the hands of the Knox Prairie Fire, in Galesburg, 100-69. The Highlanders were well short of their goal of 100 shots per game as they could only muster61. They fell 13 short of their goal of 40 three point shots and they were 8 short of their goal of forcing 30 turn overs. The end result was the loss as Knox hit 64% from the field, 57% from long range and 65% from the free throw line. They also had three players in double figures as Maclin hit for 29, Kelly 27 and Zick 21. Once again, MacMurray was out rebounded as the Prairie Fire had the advantage 42-25. The Highlnaders were whistled for 30 fouls and the host school 15 so there were not a lot of things that went right on the day. Next up will be a road game against Lincoln Christian College on Tuesday evening. Ryan Eberhart had another good day as he hit for 12 points and Jim Michels knocked down 3 of 6 from beyond the arc for his 9 points. There were 14 players in the scoring column for MacMurray but they will continue to work on their defensive pressure and force a few more opportunities for the offense. This was a frustrating day on the hardwood but the change will take some time and requires some patience on the part of the players and their fans in the transition.
