In a rematch of last years first round NCAA play-off game - also a Puget Sound victory - senior Lindsay May led the way with 16 points and a game high eight rebounds. May rallied Puget Sound from a 32-30 halftime deficit, keying the Logger's rally with just over 11 minutes remaining in the game.
Driving hard the basket May capped an 8-0 Logger's run that brought that Puget Sound within two, and her free throw shooting proved the difference. May led the Loggers from the line with her 8 for 8 effort.
Teammate Kilty Keaton was also perfect from the charity stripe, connecting on all 6 of her attempts, as the Loggers outscored the Panthers 27-11 at the foul line.
Chapman hit on seven three pointers to counter Puget Sound's free throw edge, but couldn't overcome Puget Sound's defense down the stretch.
Keaton had 13 points on the night, as did backcourt mate Sarah Carnahan. Carnahan had a game high 7 assists to go along with three steals in what was her best all around game of the young season.
Puget Sound is back at it tomorrow, taking on the host CS-Hayward Pioneers in a game set to tip at 6:00pm.
