BOSTON, Massachusetts -- — Freshman guard Grant Johnson (Grayson, Ga.) scored 21 points and grabbed six assists and freshman forward Jeff Prebeck (Columbus, Ind.) chipped in with 19 points (on 7-for-10 shooting) and nine rebounds as Coast Guard (5-1) outscored Wentworth 45-32 over the final 20:00 to take a 74-61 victory over Wentworth (1-5) in a non-league contest played at Tansey Gym.

The game started off slow as neither team was able to connect on a basket until 3:17 into the game. No team would gain momentum during the first 20:00, as the score was tied 10 times (including 29-all at the break) and the lead changed hands six times. Prebeck led the Bears with nine first half points, while Wentworth freshman guard Sherrad Prezzie-Blue (Norwalk, Conn.) had eight for the Leopards.

With the score knotted at 31, Coast Guard went on a 16-6 run over a span of 7:27 to take a 47-37 lead with 11;26 to play. Wentworth cut the lead back to eight on a pair of junior Morey Frydman (Thornhill, Ont.) free throws before the Bears got five straight points from sophomore Ryan Ball (Ashburn, Va.) to take a 13-point lead (52-39) with 9:33 left.

The Leopards used a 12-4 run of their own to cut the lead to five (56-51) with just over 6:30 left, but could get no closer, as the Bears outscored their hosts 18-10 over the final 6:37.

Prezzie-Blue led Wentworth with 15 points, while junior Frankie Hall (Boston, Mass.) chipped in with nine points and 10 rebounrds.
