The hosts led most of the contest. They jumped out to a 24-12 advantage when Sean Rozanski drained a three-pointer midway through the first half. The lead grew to as much as 15 before the Bison cut the deficit to 12 at halftime, 36-24.
Gallaudet opened the second stanza on fire and cut the lead to just three, knocking down four of its first five shots including a trifecta from junior point guard Brendan Stern – who finished with five points and four dimes. However, the Sea Gulls countered with a 12-0 run and wouldn’t look back. They sealed the victory when Derek Washington tallied a three-pointer with less than a minute remaining.
With the loss, Gallaudet evens its record at 3-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play, while the Sea Gulls improve to 3-2 and 1-0. The Bison return to action for yet another CAC contest at Goucher on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
