MEADVILLE, Pa. — Two Yeowomen reached double-figures in tonight's women's basketball game at Allegheny College, but the host Gators defeated Oberlin, 78-55, in a North Coast Athletic Conference contest in Meadville, Pa. Junior forward Roneisha Kinney netted a game-high 14 points and sophomore guard Alyssa Clark tallied 11 off the bench, but Allegheny took advantage of a 44-25 halftime lead to earn the league win.

The Gators had a quick start tonight as they cruised to a 12-3 lead after a layup by Meghan Vasilisin with 16:32 left in the period. The Yeowomen trailed just 21-28 after a jumper by first-year Liz Thompson with 4:41 remaining in the half, but the hosts went on a 16-4 run to head into the intermission with a 19-point advantage.

Oberlin had a solid second half, scoring 30 points on 41.9 percent shooting from the floor. The Gators tallied 34 points in the second half to close out the 78-55 victory.

In addition to Kinney and Clark's scoring efforts, senior captain Jessie Oram accumulated eight points, four boards, three assists, two steals, and a block. First-year shooting guard Monica Zell contributed six points on two treys and five assists, while classmate Kayla Brandt scored seven points in just 12 minutes of action.

Allegheny was led by Brittany Bell, who racked up 14 points and four boards off the bench. Stephanie Wolf added 13 points, eight rebounds, and four assists.

"We made a lot of nice plays tonight, but we let Allegheny make a lot more," Head Coach Christa Champion said. "We were just unable to make things difficult for Allegheny's offense."

The Yeowomen will travel to Earlham College on January 20 for their next game (1:00 p.m.).
