NEW YORK — Sophomore forward Jessica McEntee scored 10 of her 20 points during a game-ending 20-4 spurt as the New York University women's basketball team recorded a 75-57 victory over University Athletic Association rival Emory University before 1,672 at the Jerome S. Coles Sports Center on Friday night.

McEntee (4-11 FG, 12-19 FT) also grabbed 18 rebounds to record her eighth double-double of the season for the Violets (14-1, 3-1 UAA), who are ranked #14 in the ESPN/USA Today Division III Coaches' Poll and #18 by d3hoops.com.

Senior guard Adrienne Rochetti tallied 17 points (7-9 from the field, 3-4 on three-pointers) in the win for NYU, while sophomore guard Gena Brown netted 15.

Forward Lora Turner kept Emory (7-8, 1-3 UAA) in the game by scoring 19 points and grabbing nine rebounds. Guard Beth Bergmann added 13 on 5-6 shooting (3-4 from long range).

Emory pulled within 55-53 with 6:53 remaining after a jumper by guard Kerry Madison, prompting NYU head coach Janice Quinn to call a full tiimeout.

Out of the timeout, the Violets got lay-ups on consecutive possesions by Rochetti and McEntee. At one point, NYU scored 14 straight points to take a 69-53 lead with 2:05 remaining after McEntee hit one of two free throws.

NYU led 36-26 at halftime thanks to Rochetti, who scored 12 of her points during the opening stanza. The senior guard was 5-5 from the floor and hit a three-pointer just before the halftime horn.

NYU shot 44.7% (21-47) and 71.4% (25-35) from the charity stripe, while holding Emory to 32.9% shooting (23-70).

The Violets return to action Sunday, Jan. 21, when they host Case Western Reserve University at the Coles Sports Center. Tip-off time is 2 pm.
