ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The University of Rochester sank 12 three-point goals, 10 in the first half, and went on to an 82-69 victory over New York University at the Louis Alexander Palestra.

Four different players connected from outside the arc for the Yellowjackets. Emily Bango had four, Helen Baroody and Megan Krebbeks made three, and Johanna McNelis sank two. Rochester hit 10 threes in the first half enroute to a 44-26 lead.

Rochester improved to 11-0 overall, 3-0 in the University Athletic Association. NYU is 11-1, 1-1 in the UAA. Rochester is ranked third by D3hoops.com. NYU is ranked No. 21. The victory is Rochester’s fourth over a ranked opponent this year and the second this weekend. Rochester defeated No. 7 Brandeis on Friday night.

Baroody led Rochester with a season’s high 17 points. Bango scored a season’s high 15, added three assists, one block, and two steals. Danielle Muller scored 10 points.

Adrienne Rochette led the Violets with a career high 19 points, hitting six of 10 from the floor, including three of four outside the arc. Jessica McIntee had 16 points and 10 boards. Gena Brown scored 10 points.

A jumper by McIntee got the Violets within 12-10. Baroody hit a jumper less than a minute later to start an extended 24-8 run over seven minutes that built the lead to 36-18. Rochester hit six threes in the run: three by Krebbeks, two by Bango, one by Baroody.

In the second half, the lead grew to as much as 28 when Rachel Stern drove for a layup (71-43 with 9:10 left).

Julie Marriott had five assists, two blocks, and eight points for Rochester. Alex Porter contributed nine points, four steals, and one assist.

Led by McEntee’s 10 boards, NYU became the first team this year to out-rebound Rochester (40-38). The Violets hit 50 percent from the floor in the second half and finished at 42.1%. Rochester sank 41 percent in the second half and finished at 45%.
