Emily Bango and Alex Porter matched totals with 11 points and eight rebounds apiece to lead the way. Porter added one assist and four steals. Bango had two steals and three assists.
Julie Marriott and Johanna McNelis scored nine points each. Danielle Muller chipped in seven while Emily Lyons and Jessica Mastronardi scored six each. Lyons grabbed six rebounds and helped Rochester to a 45-28 advantage off the glass.
Emory’s Lora Turner took game scoring honors with 14 points and eight rebounds in 26 points. Erica Kaplan scored eight points as did Jenny Kraus. Beth Bergmann scored seven points. Kaplan sank two of Emory’s five three-pointers.
Rochester improved to 16-2 overall, 5-2 in the University Athletic Association. Emory is 7-10 overall, 1-6 UAA.
Kraus sank a layup to pull Emory within two, 15-13, with 10:08 to play in the first half. McNelis sank a three-point goal to trigger an 8-0 run by Rochester over the next 92 seconds. Bango scored the other five points, hitting two free throws, then knocking down a three-pointer.
Kaplan pulled the Eagles within four, 27-23, with a pair of free throws. Porter sank one free throw, then made a layup and Muller’s layup beat the halftime buzzer for a 32-23 lead at the break.
Rochester scored 10 straight points from its post players to open a 15-point edge, 46-31, with 10:13 left in the game. Jessica Waddell and Lyons scored four apiece. Marriott started the burst with a layup.
