NYU (10-0) forced Mount St. Vincent (5-3) to miss 18 of its first 19 shots while turning the ball over 11 times en route to taking a 25-5 lead with 5:30 remaining in the first half. Rochetti helped the Violets score 10 early points off fast-break lay-ups. She scored 12 of her points during the opening stanza.
Meanwhile, the Dolphins shot 13.8% (4-29) in the first half as the Violets took a 37-13 lead into the locker room at the break. Mount St. Vincent shot just 21.7% (13-60) overall, including only 10.0% (2-20) on its three-point tries.
Senior forward Stephanie Ryba scored 11 points for NYU, while sophomore forward Jessica McEntee scored eight points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. Freshman guard Jen Hum-Traverso added seven points and seven rebounds, while freshman guard Sabrina Labossiere tallied a career-high seven points.
Lauren Percodani led Mount St. Vincent with nine points.
NYU returns to action Friday, January 5, when it begins University Athletic Association play at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. Tip-off time is 6 pm.
