FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — The Farmingdale State women's basketball team used a 10-point cushion at halftime and a big second half by juniors Dankery Perez (New York, NY/Manhattan Center) and Mercedes Miller (New York, NY/Manhattan Center) to defeat visiting Manhattanville 79-71 and improve to 11-3, 7-1 in the Skyline. Freshman guard Kimberly Blakney (Brooklyn, NY/Benjamin Banneker) posted a game-high 19 points and three blocks to lead the Rams; including a 13-point first half. Miller totaled 18 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. Perez finished with 15 points, all in the second half, and three assists. Senior guard Rochelle Clark (Bellport, NY/Bellport) had a great game with 12 points, eight assists, five steals and five rebounds, while sophomore guard Ashley Ruballo-Kline (New York, NY/Newburgh Free Academy) was the fifth player in double digits with 12 points and seven rebounds.
For Manhattanville, freshman center Cyntrell Robinson (New Haven, CT/Hill Regional Career) had the games only double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds. The Valiants were led by sophomore guard Olivia Nastasi (Cold Spring, NY/Haldane) with 18 points. Senior guard Kim Reznicek (Dobbs Ferry, NY/Dobbs Ferry) finished with 10.
The Rams will now travel to face Stevens on Monday night, January 22nd, in Hoboken, New Jersey, for a 7:00pm conference game. Stevens currently holds second place with a 6-1 conference record.
