St. Lawrence (12-1 overall, 2-0 league) has won 11 straight games. Katie Palmer '09 added 16 points and seven rebounds. Kimberly Sikule '08 pulled down eight boards. Jamie Wolff '08 chipped in seven points and three assists.
The Continentals (7-2, 1-1) were led by Sydney Fasulo '09, who scored 19 points and hauled in six rebounds. Molly Kane '09 registered 14 points and three assists. Sarah Schrader '09 contributed 10 points and four steals.
The Saints led 34-17 at the half after shooting 66.7 percent (14-21) from the field. Meanwhile, Hamilton shot just 20.6 percent (7-34) from the floor in the first half. The Continentals missed all 11 of their three-point attempts in the first 20 minutes.
Hamilton went to a full-court press in the second half and the move seemed to bother St. Lawrence. The Saints wound up with 30 turnovers for the game and shot 23.8 percent (5-21) in the second half. The Continentals made 14 of 32 field goal attempts after the break.
St. Lawrence still led 46-32 with 13:07 left, but Hamilton took a one-point lead at 49-48 with a 17-2 run that was punctuated by a Kane three-pointer with 3:20 remaining. The lead was the only one for the Continentals the entire contest.
Muszynski sandwiched four free throws around a lay-up by Palmer to put the Saints up 54-49 with 25 seconds left. Jess Barrows '08 nailed a three with 15 ticks remaining to bring Hamilton to within two at 54-52. After Wolff missed the front end of a 1-and-1 with 4.9 seconds left, the Continentals had one last chance. The ball ended up in the hands of Pumla Sathula '08, who drained a three-pointer, but she failed to get the shot off before time expired.
Hamilton hosts Williams College for a non-league game on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 7 p.m.
