The lead changed hands five times in the second half and three times in the last three minutes. The Blue Knights seemed to seize control of the game when they finished an 11-0 run with nine minutes remaining, but the Valiants would not go away. Freshman Cyntrell Robinson (New Haven, CT) would put Manhattanville on top for good when she put back her
own miss at the 1:09 mark. Sophomore Olivia Nastasi (Cold Spring, NY) drained two free throws with thirty seconds remaining and Mount Saint Mary missed on a three-pointer to tie the game in the final seconds.
Senior Kim Reznicek (Dobbs Ferry, NY) led the Valiants with 15 points. Following a scoreless first half, Nastasi poured in 13 points in the second half and was the key performer for Manhattanville.
Senior LaSheena Brown (Malverne, NY) put up her first double-double of the season for the Blue Knights, scoring 20 points to go along with 13 rebounds. Junior Chantel Anthony (Middletown, NY) had 15 for the Mount.
With the loss, the Blue Knights drop to 4-2 overall and 1-1 within the Skyline Conference. The defeat marks only the second blemish on the record of Mount Saint Mary College in the history of Skyline Conference play. Manhattanville moves to 2-5 overall and 1-2 within the Skyline. The Blue Knights next take the floor against Stevens on Saturday, December 9 at 5:00 p.m. in Hoboken, NJ. The Valiants play host to St. Joseph’s-Maine, also on December 9.
