Pumla Sathula '08 added nine rebounds and six steals for Hamilton in its league opener. The Continentals are 7-1 for the first time since 1992-93. Jess Barrows '08 handed out a game-high four assists.
Rachel Whitermore '09 paced Clarkson (4-8, 0-1) with 12 points and was credited with three steals off the bench. Sarah Wesner '07 chipped in 11 points, six rebounds and three assists for the Golden Knights.
Hamilton went on an 8-1 run midway through the first half to turn a 12-12 tie into a 20-13 lead with 8:13 left. The Continentals never trailed again. Clarkson closed to 25-22 at the break, but Hamilton opened the second half with a 9-2 spurt for a 34-24 cushion. The lead grew to as many as 14 points three times in the final 8:30.
The Continentals host St. Lawrence University for another league game on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 2 p.m.
