Vassar was led by freshman forward Emily Haeuser (South Portland, ME/South Portland), who tallied a game-high 18 points and 13 rebounds. Senior center Rachel Cerlen (Florham Park, NJ/Millburn) contributed 14 points and 11 rebounds in the Vassar win. Cerlen shot six-of-14 from the field, while Haeuser was seven-of-15 in the game.
Smith got a game-high 17 points from freshman guard Lisa Marie Vuono on six-of-eight shooting. Sophomore guard Rosie Baldwin led Smith in rebounding, collecting six boards in the contest.
The Pioneers shot 32.8% in the game while Vassar shot 31.5%. Smith turned the ball over 18 times to Vassar's 15, but was out rebounded by a 46-34 margin.
The Brewers next play in the new year, facing Morrisville State on the road on January 7. Vassar next plays at home on Tuesday, January 9 at 6:00 with a game against Russell Sage.
