Washington College 101, Muhlenberg 98

ITHACA, N.Y. — The Ithaca Bombers (13-9, 9-2 Empire 8) secured a berth in the Empire 8 Championship Tournament with an 86-65 win over visiting Alfred (4-19, 0-12 E8) Saturday. Sophomore Tracy Bradley (Lewiston/Brunswick, Maine) scored a career-high 17 points.

The Empire 8 Championship Tournament will be held Feb. 23-24 at the site of the regular-season champion (either Elmira or Ithaca).

Bradley's team-best 17 points (the most off the bench by a Bomber this winter) included 11 in the first half. Junior center Erika Steele (Hopkinton/Hopkinton, Mass.) added 16 points, six rebounds and a career-best five blocked sots. Senior guard Sue Kelly (Bethlehem/Delmar) added nine points and a career-best 13 rebounds.

Junior guard Brynn Fessette (Seton Catholic Central/Plattsburgh) added 10 points and nine rebounds.

Alfred, which dropped its ninth in a row, was led by senior guard Mgan Sampsell (Corry Area/Corry, Pa.), who scored a game-high 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds.

The Bombers play at league-leading Elmira Tuesday at 6 p.m. The Soaring Eagles own a one-game lead in the conference standings over Ithaca.
