ALFRED, NY —
The Alfred University men’s basketball team defeated visiting Nazareth College 82-77 in double overtime on Saturday afternoon.

AU, despite turning the ball over 21 times, had a good day shooting from the floor (43 percent).
The turning point in the game came in the closing minute of the second overtime when senior Robby McCarter drained two three pointers to give the Saxons the lead for good. McCarter finished with 16 points, and was the best Saxon free throw shooter making five of six. Center Dillon Stein played tremendously in the paint racking up a team-high 20 points while pulling in nine boards and dishing out five assists. Stein played the final minute and both overtime periods with four personal fouls.
