ITHACA, N.Y. — Freshman Jessica Mastronardi scored all nine of her points in the final 2:51 of the first half to spark the University of Rochester to a 68-56 victory over Ithaca College at the Ben Light Gymnasium.

Rochester trailed by seven, 26-19, with 3:28 left in the first half. Mastronardi hit all four of her field goal tries – one outside the arc – to fuel a 12-1 run that gave the Yellowjackets a 31-27 lead at the half. She tied it at 26-26 on a trey with 1:37 to go, then put Rochester ahead for good with jumpers at 0:47 and 0:25.

The lead grew to 12 early in the second half (39-27, 18:28 left). Ithaca pecked away, finally closing to within four, 50-46, on back to back layups by Amy Smith with 10:54 remaining.

Megan Krebbeks made two free throws, Alex Porter added a layup, and Krebbeks fed Danielle Muller for a layup to push the elad back to 56-46 with 8:52 left. Ithaca never got closer than nine the rest of the way.

Krebbeks led the Yellowjackets in scoring with 14 points. She added five rebounds and two assists. Porter scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Julie Marriott had nine points and 10 rebounds. Rochester outrebounded the Bombers, 42-33.

For Ithaca, Jeanine Burke scored 10 pointsd before fouling out. Katherine Bixby and Kali Carnovale had eight points each.

Rochester improved to 4-0 overall. The Yellowjackets are ranked number 14 in Division III. Ithaca is 1-2.
