ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Senior Stephanie Bowens scored 15 points and junior Ali Sharpe came off the bench to score 14 Sunday as Nazareth won its second non-conference game in women\'s basketball in as many days with a 68-49 win over Hilbert.

Nazareth also defeated Clarkson at home Saturday, 81-61, and now sits at 2-0. Hilbert dropped to 0-4.

Sharpe (Aquinas), the Golden Flyers\' leading scorer and rebounder last season, has been limited to a reserve role in Nazareth\'s first two games as she continues to recover from reconstructive knee surgery that prematurely ended her 2005-06 season. She made 6 of 11 shots and grabbed five rebounds in 17 minutes of action. Bowens (Nazareth Academy), meanwhile, was 6 for 13 from the field with six rebounds.

Nazareth never trailed against the visiting Hawks Sunday. The score was tied 16-16 with less than nine minutes to play in the first half, but Nazareth closed out the half with a 17-8 scoring run to take a 33-24 lead at the break.

Nazareth stayed comfortably ahead in the second half and the Golden Flyers\' lead reached double figures on a three-point basket by Sarah Homer with 16:45 to play in the game.

Nazareth\'s scoring was evenly dispersed with 10 players scoring at least one field goal. Hilbert had a 46-32 rebounding advantage, but Nazareth canceled that out by forcing 30 Hilbert turnovers. Freshman Kelly Dunne had six steals.

Nazareth returns to action Wednesday for another non-conference game at William Smith at 6 p.m.
