ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Pipers shot 58.3 percent in the second half to force overtime, but the Johnnies remained unbeaten in the MIAC with a 92-83 win over Hamline Monday night at Hutton Arena.

After trailing 47-39 at the break, the Pipers (4-10, 2-7 in the MIAC) came back to a take a 79-78 lead on a Tony Thrasher three-point play with under two minutes to go. St. John's (11-3, 9-0)would answer on a Brady Brink layup on their next possession before Sam Wiener knotted the game at 80-80 with a free throw with 1:05 remaining.

Hamline stopped the Johnnies on their next possession, but senior Kyle Foster was called for an offensive foul - his fifth foul of the game - with seven seconds to play to give the ball back to the Johnnies. Foster finished the night with 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field and 5-of-7 from three-point range. He also pulled down nine rebounds.

In overtime, the Johnnies scored seven of the first eight points as Matt Ohme, Tyler Westman, and Brady Brink all scored buckets in the spurt that gave St. John's an 87-83 lead. The Johnnies outscored Hamline 12-3 in the extra session.

The Pipers were 14-of-24 from the field in the second (58.3 percent), but were held to 1-of-8 from the floor in overtime.

St. John's shot 63 percent in the first half (17-27) before cooling off to 37.5 percent in the second half (12-32).

Westman tallied 23 points to lead the Johnnies, shooting 5-of-8 from beyond the arc. He led four players in double figures. Brink added 17 points while Ryan Lieser chipped in 16, and Craig Schaffer netted 12.

Thrasher tallied 22 points for Hamline on 9-of-17 shooting. Sophomore Jon DeRock scored 16 points, and Wiener chipped in 11 points. Both DeRock and Wiener dished out six assist in the contest.
