Sophomore forward Michaelene Jones registered a game-high 13 rebounds (six offensive), marking her fifth double-digit rebound game of the season.
Chatham fell to 2-9 after losing its fifth-straight contest. The Cougars turned the ball over 17 times, as Waynesburg held an 18-9 edge in points off turnovers.
Sophomore guard Erica Bilski led Chatham in scoring with 10 points, while sophomore forward Allason Holt had a team-high 10 rebounds (six offensive).
After the two teams combined for just 19 total points in the first half, the Yellow Jackets opened the second period with a 20-9 run over a seven-minute stretch to take a 30-18 lead. Waynesburg scored the first 10 points of the half, including a pair of three-pointers from Lewandowski.
The Cougars countered with a run of their own, closing the deficit to 30-24 before a Lewandowski lay-up and a Gossett three-pointer made the game a double-digit contest.
The Yellow Jackets return home on Saturday, Jan. 6, for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest against Thiel. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. game at the Marisa Fieldhouse.
