PITTSBURGH (November 21, 2006) … Clinging to a 59-54 lead with 5:36 to play, the Thiel College Women’s Basketball team outscored host Chatham College 11-0 to finish the game, and earn a 70-54 non-conference victory.
Sophomore Amber Bodrick scored a game-high 30 points and added eight rebounds. Nicole Valentino chipped in 17 points, including five three-point field goals, while Jena Cook came off the bench to add 10.
Chatham (0-4), which committed 16 second-half turnovers, had three first-year players score a team-high 12 points, including Brittany Brown (Bellefontaine, OH/Bellefontaine), Danielle Pais (Pittsburgh, PA/Seton-La Salle) and Amanda Vranka (Monroeville, PA/Gateway). Sophomore Allason Holt (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) added a ‘double-double’ with 10 points, and 11 rebounds.
Chatham returns to action on Wednesday, November 29th when they travel to take on Penn State New Kensington in a non-conference match up. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
