PITTSBURGH (December 5, 2006) … Tied at 14-14 with 7:31 in the first half, the Bethany College women’s basketball team outscored Chatham 18-9 to finish the half, and 31-15 in the second half to earn a 63-38 non-conference victory over host Chatham College.
Bethany (3-5) had four players reach double figures, led by Brooke Orange with 19, and Mandi Swiger, Courtney Irwin, and Renee Brandenburg with 10 points each. The Bison overcame 24 turnovers by outrebounding Chatham 50-29.
Chatham (2-5) was led by sophomore Allason Holt (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) with 12 points, and fellow sophomore Erica Bilski (Pittsburgh, PA/Seton-La Salle) with 10. The Cougars, who saw their two-game win streak snapped, connected on only 28.3% of their field goal attempts.
Chatham will return to action Friday, December 15th when they travel to take on Penn State Behrend in a non-conference matchup. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
