ALBION, Mich. — ALBION, Mich. – Albion placed four players in double figures as it rolled to an 83-62 victory over Kalamazoo College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men’s basketball action inside Kresge Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.

The Britons reeled off seven points in a minute midway through the first half to build a double-digit lead. Evan Way scored a layup, Andrew Holms added an old-fashioned three-point play, and Robbie Clark completed the run with a layup as the Britons led 22-11 with 10 ½ minutes left in the first half.

Kalamazoo could not close the margin under six points for the rest of the half, as Albion settled for a 43-33 lead as the teams went to the locker room at halftime.

Albion seized control of the second half by scoring baskets on its first three possessions. Zak Silas, Holms, and Clark each knocked down a jumper as Albion led 49-33 with 18:15 remaining.

The Britons poured it on from there, using a 9-0 run to claim a 65-43 lead with 12:34 left. Silas started the rally with a jumper and a layup, Isiah Thomas added a layup, and Jim Cash scored a basket and a free throw.

Silas led the Britons with 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the floor. Holms contributed 15 points and six rebounds. Drew Yancey finished with 14 points (on 6-of-9 shooting from the field) and four assists. Cash posted 13 points and seven rebounds.

Albion will play its final home game of the season Feb. 14 when Calvin College visits Kresge Gymnasium for junior varsity (5:15 p.m.) and varsity (7:30 p.m.) contests.
