KALAMAZOO, Mich. — After spotting host Kalamazoo College the early 6-0 lead, Albion College roared back with a 12-0 run and never looked back in posting a 77-59 victory over the Hornets in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men’s basketball game at the Anderson Athletic Center Wednesday night.

It was the second win in a row for the Britons. Albion will go in search of another victory Saturday afternoon when it travels to Grand Rapids for its first meeting of the season with Calvin College.

Pat Clancy scored 3-point goals on Kalamazoo’s first two possessions. Albion rallied to tie the score with jumpers from Dean Raven and Andrew Holms and free throws by Jim Cash. Albion seized the lead behind baskets from Cash and Holms.

Albion led 14-12 when it went on a 10-0 run in building a 24-12 lead with 8:22 left in the first half. Cash powered the rally with a pair of 3-point goals. The Britons connected on 50 percent of their shots from the field in the first half and went on to hold a 40-23 lead at halftime.

Kalamazoo never got closer than nine points in the second half.

Zak Silas has scored at least 20 points in consecutive games after leading Albion with 21 points on 9-of-17 shooting from the field. Cash posted 15 points and eight rebounds, while Raven added 11 points.

Clancy and Nate Orozco led Kalamazoo with 10 points apiece.
