Pagenhardt, who led the Ohio Athletic Conference in scoring last season, picked up right where she left off. The guard connected on 7-of-16 from the floor, hit three from long range and added 11 points from the line. She also contributed five assists and two steals.
Junior forward Abby Hess (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls), a double-double machine, pitched in with 14 points and 12 boards. Sophomore guard Amanda Carraher (Hilliard/Hilliard Davidson), who went 3-of-9 from beyond the arc, added 14 points.
Marietta shot just 22-of-57 (.386) from the field and 6-of-20 (.300) from three-point range. It also made 20-of-29 (.690) from the line. The Pioneers turned the ball over 25 times, which led to 29 Blue Devil points. SUNY-Fredonia finished 33-of-69 (.478) overall and had a slight advantage on the boards, 40-37.
The Pioneers return to action on Sunday (Nov. 19) afternoon at 2 p.m. when they take on the loser of Waynesburg (Pa.) and Penn State-Behrend in the consolation game.
