The Bearcats started the game cold and fell behind quickly, 11-0, until Jody Trapp (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) hit two free throws at the 14:49 mark to put the Bearcats on the scoreboard.
Brockport kept their early momentum going to lead big at one point, 22-6, but Baruch cut the deficit to eight points on a three-pointer by Dominique McClendon (Chicago, III/Seaside) to trail, 33-25, at halftime.
The Bearcats battled back in the second half to get as close as five points, 38-33, on a jumper by McClendon, but Brockport responded the rest of the way to build a double-digit lead and win, 51-40.
Baruch struggled from the field (14-50, 28%), and committed 28 turnovers.
Brockport also struggled shooting (19-56), but nailed five key three pointers (5-15) for the victory.
McClendon led the Bearcats with 15 points and seven rebounds, while Racquel Reid (New York, N.Y./Washington Irving) scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Brockport was led by Katie Marcella (Schenectady, N.Y./Guilderland) with 10 points, 15 rebounds, and three steals.
The Bearcats will play Lynchburg (Virginia) in the consolation game tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
