Oneonta, N.Y. — Oneonta, N.Y. -- The women's basketball (10-8) won their improved its winning streak to seven games by defeating Oneonta (12-7) Tuesday 72-60. Junior forward Erika Steele (Hopkinton/Hopkinton, Mass.) scored a game-best 20 points and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds.

Senior guard Sue Kelley (Bethlehem Central/Belmar) was second on the team with 14 points. She also grabbed four rebounds, made four assists, and had three steals. Senior guard Erin Sanvidge (Catholic Central/Troy) scored 11 points–her second-straight game in double digits. Sanvidge also made a game-best six assists.

For Oneonta, sophomore forward Kerri Swails (Vestal/Vestal) scored a team-high 10 points. Sophomore guard Megan Bucci (Our Lady of Lourdes/Marlboro) and freshman guard Sara Chrystie (Oxford/Oxford) each scored nine points. Sophomore forward Christi Podgorski (Guilderland/Schenectady) grabbed a team-high six rebounds.

The Bombers were able to bounce back after falling behind 33-29 at halftime. Oneonta held its biggest lead of 8 points with 11:35 remaining in the game. However, the Bombers quickly closed the gap and pulled away. They grabbed their biggest lead of 12 points with :30 remaining.

This season the Bombers have held their opponents to under 70 points 12 times, while scoring 70 or more points eight times. During the current winning-streak, the Bombers have outscored opponents by an average of 15.5 points

The Bombers put their winning streak on the line when they travel to Utica Friday for a 6 p.m. game.
