Senior guard Sue Kelly (Bethlehem Central/ Delmar) led the team with 21 points and six rebounds all in the first half. She fell short of her career-high point mark by one point. Freshman center Kate Carlezon (Scituate/ Scituate, Mass.) added a career-best nine points and pulled down a career-high eight rebounds. Junior Erika Steele (Hopkinton/ Hopkinton, Mass.) finished with eight points and seven rebounds.
Potsdam jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first half before Ithaca responded with an eight point run. The Bombers entered halftime on a 17-4 run and lead 49-35.
Both teams exchanged scoring in the second half and each scored 34 points. The Bombers shot 43.3% from the field while Potsdam shot 39.0% for the game. Ithaca won the rebounding battle 47-43. The Bombers pulled down 17 offensive boards.
For Potsdam Freshman Cortney Poirier (Brushton-Moira/ Moira) led the Bears with 12 points while sophomore Hannah Fairchild (Brushton-Moira/Brushton) added 10. Sophomore Maureen Curley (Madrid-Waddington/ Madrid) had eight rebounds and six assists and freshman Rachel Graf (Jordan-Elbridge/ Elbridge) hauled down seven rebounds.
The Bombers return to the court after the new year when they square off against Cornell Tuesday (January 2nd) for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
