POTSDAM, N.Y. – The SUNY Potsdam women’s basketball team suffered a conference loss, 63-49, to Oswego State on Saturday night in Jerry Welsh Gymnasium. The Bears now go to 8-10 (3-6 SUNYAC) while the Lakers advance to 13-5 (7-3).
Freshman Sarah Casey (Potsdam/Potsdam) led the Bears with 8 points followed by Hannah Fairchild (Brushton/Brushton-Moira) and Rachel Graf (Elbridge/Jordan-Elbridge) with 7 each. Kathleen Lewis (Potsdam/Potsdam) topped the Potsdam rebounders with 8 boards followed by Cortney Poirier (Moira/Brushton-Moira) with 7.
Senior Jessica Tremblay (Colonie/Colonie) went double-double as she led the Lakers with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Kelly Mraz (Johnstown/Johnstown) added 10 points and 6 boards while Alaina Hannahs (Johnstown/Johnstown) pulled down 8 boards as Oswego’s number two rebounder.
The Bears, now in seventh place in the SUNYAC, will resume conference play next Friday night when they travel to Cortland for a 6 p.m. contest. The fourth ranked Lakers will return to action next Saturday with a 6 p.m. conference match at Brockport.
