POTSDAM, N.Y. – SUNY Potsdam freshman guard Anthony Williams Jr. (Brentwood/Upper Room Christian) led all Potsdam scorers with 16 points and 8 boards but Bears still fell short. The Potsdam men dropped Friday’s SUNYAC opener 64-67 to the visiting Blue Knights of Geneseo.
Rounding out the scoring effort for Potsdam was Brandon Siskavich (Peru/Peru) who added 11 points to go along with three rebounds and 3 dimes.
Geneseo junior guard Joe Kling (Getzville/St. Joseph’s) lead all scorers with 18 points, 8 off of free throws, and 6 boards. Scott Morton (Syracuse/Westhill) did not lag far behind, adding 17 points of his own to go along with 2 assists and a board.
With seconds remaining in the game, Potsdam guard Scott Mitchell (Brushton/North Country CC) put up an off-balanced three pointer to attempt to tie the game, but he was off the mark, placing the victory in the hands of the Blue Knights.
Potsdam will play host to SUNY Brockport tomorrow at 4pm.
