Hartwick had control from the onset of the game, with Sage’s only lead at 2-0. The Hawks went on a 19-6 run to take a 21-8 lead halfway through the first period and would build their lead to as many as 18 (36-18) courtesy of a Kara Foro (Schenectady, N.Y.) lay-up with 5:46 to play in the half.
The game would never get close in the second half, with Hartwick continuing to build their lead. Danee Harrison (Bridgeport, Conn.) scored a jumper with 4:20 to play in regulation to give the Hawks a 25-point lead (81-65) and would coast to the 87-67 final.
The Hawks had four players score in double figures. Tichy had 20 points and four assists. Foro finished with 15 points and two steals, while Lindsay Wilson (Oneida, N.Y.) had 13 points, nine assists. Jenny Knight (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) rounded out the double digit scorers with 13 points and nine rebounds.
Ashley Wetherell led the Gators with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Ashley Wojcicki added 13 points and Ashli Fragomeni chipped in nine points and seven assists in the loss.
Hartwick will close out the home portion of their season this weekend, hosting R.I.T. Friday evening and Nazareth College on Saturday afternoon
