Doane 91, Nebraska Wesleyan 81

STATEN ISLAND, NY — Senior center Brian Rimol (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds while senior forward Pierre Schmitt (Park Ridge, NJ/Park Ridge) added 15 points and six rebounds as the College at Florham Devils knocked off the College of Staten Island, 85-68, on Monday night.

With the win, the Devils improved to 4-0.

The Devils got off to a quick start, opening the game on a 9-0 run fueled by four points by sophomore guard Ryan McPherson (West Orange, NJ/West Orange). After the Dolphins cut the lead to 9-6, FDU responded with an 8-0 run to increase the lead to 17-6 with 10:58 left to play in the first half. Rimol had six points during the run.

FDU went up by 19 points, 36-17, with 4:04 left in the first half on layup by junior guard Nick Shaw (South Amboy, NJ/South Amboy). The Devils had a 44-27 advantage going into halftime.

The Dolphins got as close as eight points, 56-48, with 11:12 to play in the game. However, the Devils responded with a 19-7 run over the next five minutes to take a 75-55 lead and seal the victory.

McPherson finished the game with 10 points and senior guard Frank Emslie (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan) dropped in 14 points. Senior guard Brian Dillon (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) had eight points, five rebounds and four assists while sophomore forward Andrew Biancosino (Edison, NJ/JP Stevens) chipped in nine points and five rebounds off the bench.

The Devils return to action on Wednesday, November 29, at home against Drew beginning at 7 pm.
