Lincoln 62, Lebanon Valley 59

MADISON, NJ — Sophomore guard Emily Cerankowski (Easton, PA/Notre Dame) scored 25 points to go along with five rebounds and five assists and was named Tournament MVP as the College at Florham Devils knocked off Ramapo, 75-67, in the Championship game of the Craig Keeler Memorial Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Devils won their third straight game and are now 4-7.

Ramapo came out and took a 12-7 lead in the first eight minutes of the game behind five points from junior guard Natasha Gross (Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock). FDU responded with a 26-7 run to take their biggest lead of the game, 33-19, with 4:10 left in the first half. During the run, the Devils got 10 points each from Cerankowski and freshman forward Danielle Michlovsky (Wind Gap, PA/Bethlehem Catholic). FDU went into the locker rooms with a nine point halftime lead, 41-32.

Ramapo came out strong in the first ten minutes of the second half, cutting the FDU lead to 54-50. Five different players scored in the run for the Roadrunners including five points from senior guard Keona Palmer (Port Reading, NJ/Woodbridge). The Devils came right back with a 15-8 run to get their lead back to 11 points, 69-58, with 4:21 remaining. Six different players scored in the spurt for FDU. The closest Ramapo could get down the stretch was eight points and the Devils made their free throws to seal the win.

Michlovsky finished the game with 17 points, seven rebounds and four steals for FDU while freshman center Shannon Smith (Verona, NJ/Verona) had 10 points, eight rebounds and seven blocks. For Ramapo, Palmer had 17 points and 10 rebounds while Gross also had 17 points. Senior guard Kelly Bartz (Madison, NJ/Madison) chipped in 12 points off the bench.

In the Consolation game, North Carolina Wesleyan knocked off Eastern by a score of 72-53. Junior forward Lawanda Scott (Tarboro, NC/Tarboro) had 24 points and seven rebounds for the Bishops. Eastern was led by freshman guard Hannah Tobin (Paxinos, PA/Shikellamy), who had 17 points and 18 rebounds. Senior guard Raya Shores (Athens, PA/Athens Area) added 18 points and eight boards for Eastern.

The All-Tournament team consisted of Shores from Eastern, Scott from NC Wesleyan, Palmer and Gross from Ramapo, and Smith and Cerankowski from FDU.

The Devils return to action on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at home against DeSales beginning at 6 pm.
