With the loss, the Devils dropped to 7-11 (2-6 Freedom Conference).
FDU jumped out to a 6-0 lead with all six points coming from sophomore guard Emily Cerankowski (Easton, PA/Notre Dame). The Devils kept the six point lead, 22-16, when Cerankowski hit a three pointer with 9:48 left in the first half. FDU held a 33-30 lead with 1:01 to play in the half before Lycoming scored the last four points, including a jumper in the lane by junior guard Michelle Wisla (Schwenksville, PA/Perkiomen Valley) with 0:03 left, to take a 34-33 advantage at intermission.
Lycoming came out hot in the second half as they built a five point lead, 42-37, with five minutes gone by. The Devils were able to cut the deficit to two points, 48-46, with 8:56 remaining in the game before the Warriors went on a 12-0 run over the next three minutes to take a 60-46 lead and put the game away. FDU couldn’t get closer than 10 points the rest of the way.
Cerankowski led the Devils with 20 points and five rebounds while freshman forward Maureen Kehoe (Oradell, NJ/River Dell) finished with 15 points.
The Devils return to action on Tuesday, January 30, 2007, at home against Delaware Valley beginning at 6 pm.
