BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Salisbury University men's basketball team dropped its second straight game Sunday afternoon as it fell, 67-54, to Drew University in the consolation game of the 29th annual Greyhound Starters Classic at Johnston Hall.

The Sea Gulls (8-4) shot 33 percent from the field as only two players scored in double-figures. Senior guard Ray Williams continued to lead Salisbury as he tallied a game-high 15 points and six rebounds. Sophomore Devin Jones was the other Sea Gull in double-figures as he totaled 14 points.

Drew (4-7) made its presence known down low as it outscored Salisbury, 34-10, from inside the paint.

The Sea Gulls trailed early as Drew jumped out to a 14-point halftime advantage, 34-20. SU got as close as one point with 14:14 left in the first half but Drew never relinquished the lead.

Drew shot 56 percent from the field in the first half including 5-of-8 from three point range to gain the upper hand on Salisbury.

The second half began the way the first half ended for Salisbury as Drew continued to build on its double-digit lead. However, Salisbury would go on a 14-6 run late in the half to cut the Drew lead to three-points with 3:08 left in the game.

Salisbury wouldn't get any closer as Drew scored the final 10 points of the game to close out the Gulls come back attempt.

Drew was led by Chris Lopez, Damon DiLorenzo, Bob Carella and Dave Pepperman who all scored in double-figures.

Williams was named to the all-tournament team as he totaled 42 points for the tournament.

The Sea Gulls will return to action on Wednesday, January 10, as they host Capital Athletic Conference foe Mary Washington at 7:30 p.m. at the Maggs Center.
