With the win, the Devils improved to 14-6 (6-3 Freedom Conference).
After getting out to a 4-4 tie, the Devils went on a 7-0 run to take an 11-4 lead with 13:58 left in the first half. After Delaware Valley cut it to 13-10, FDU embarked on a 14-2 run over the next five minutes to take a 27-12 lead. LaCroix and sophomore forward Andrew Biancosino (Edison, NJ/JP Stevens) each had four points in the spurt. The Devils got the lead up to 19 points before taking an 18 point lead, 39-21, into halftime.
The closest the Aggies got in the second half was 16 points while FDU got the lead into the thirties on a few occasions.
“It was good to have a good effort after a tough loss on Saturday,” said assistant coach Bill Zotti. “We need to have three good practices this week as we prepare to play Scranton on Saturday. It’s Alumni Day so we hope our students and fans come and we can give them a good effort.”
Senior center Brian Rimol (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) finished with eight points and eight rebounds for the Devils while senior guard Brian Dillon (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) dished out nine assists.
The Devils return to action on Saturday, February 3, 2007, at home for Alumni Day against Scranton beginning at 3 pm.
