Parker was 9-of-14 from the field with 22 points and a career-high 17 rebounds as she notched her sixth double-double of the season. McFarlin was 6-of-12 from the field as she recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 13 points and 15 rebounds.
Parker and McFarlin were the difference in the first half for the Bears as Washington U. outscored Emory 24-4 in the paint. Parker had 15 points and 11 rebounds, while McFarlin had eight points and eight rebounds.
The Bears led 8-2 early in the first half, before Emory answered with an 8-0 run to knot the score at 10-10. A three-pointer by sophomore Jill Brandt capped a 14-0 run as the Bears jumped out to a commanding 24-10 lead with 8:07 remaining.
Emory cut the lead to 24-17 with a 7-0 run, but the Bears responded to take a 36-24 halftime lead after Parker connected from three-point range with under a minute to play. The Bears held Emory to 30.0 percent shooting (9-30) in the first half, and outrebounded the Eagles 27-15.
Senior Sarah Schell began the second half with a fast-break jumper and a three-pointer as Washington U. moved ahead 41-26. The Bears outscored Emory 15-1 to build a commanding 65-42 lead with 6:00 left in the game. Brandt had eight points during the run, including back-to-back three’s.
Brandt added 13 points and tied her career-high with three three-pointers made. The Bears outrebounded the Eagles 47-34, and had a 40-14 advantage in the paint. Washington U. held Emory to 33.9 percent (20-59) shooting from the field, and forced 14 turnovers.
Washington University (10-4, 2-1 UAA) begins a four-game home stand against third-ranked University of Rochester on Fri., Jan. 19. Game time is set for 6 p.m. at the WU Field House.
