R-MC got a game and career-high 23 points from Jeremy Dixon. The Yellow Jackets also got 13 points from Adam Krovic and 11 points from Phil Hawley who now stands five points shy of 1,000 for his career.
Bridgewater held a 40-35 lead at the break and extended that advantage to 10 (45-35) when Kris Cecil knocked down a three pointer with 17:37 left in the game.
R-MC answered by going on an 11-2 run, and taking the lead 48-47 when Hawley connected on a three-pointer to give the Yellow Jackets the edge with 11:48 left to go.
The game remained close throughout the second-half with neither team able to open up a big lead. After Hawley made a pair of free-throws to tie the game a 63 with 52 seconds left, BC looked to Billups who canned a jumper with 26 ticks left to put BC up by two.
R-MC then turned the ball over on its next possession. With BC in bounding from the sideline, R-MC’s Justin Short picked off a Matt Drewer pass and quickly called a timeout to set up one last shot for the Jackets with four seconds left, but Short’s three-point attempt out of the timeout fell short giving BC the victory.
Randolph-Macon will be in action on Saturday when it hosts No. 4 Virginia Wesleyan at 2:00 p.m.
