Madison, NJ — Four players reached double digits and the DeSales University women’s basketball team shot 45.6 percent from the field to earn its fifth straight win, an 80-50 decision over FDU-Florham on Wednesday evening in Freedom Conference action at the Ferguson Recreation Center.

Sophomore Kim Rarick led the charge with 14 points on 4-of-5 shooting, sophomore Erica Sovak added a season-high 13 points and a game-high eight rebounds, senior Kirby Lutz had 12 points and junior Jenna Stampf totaled a season-high 12 points. Lutz now needs just seven points to become the 16th player in women’s basketball history to score 1,000 career points.

The Bulldogs (10-3, 3-0 Freedom) used a 19-8 run to end the first half to take a 47-28 locker room lead and never looked back in the second half leading by as many as 34 points. DSU finished the game shooting 53.3 percent from three-point land and held a 51-41 advantage on the boards.

In addition to the double figure scorers, sophomore LeighAnn Burke totaled eight points, freshman Kelly Magrann had seven points and fellow freshman Caitlin Miller finished with six points and six rebounds.

The Devils were led by freshman Danielle Michlovsky with 11 points and Shannon Smith with 10 tallies. FDU (4-8, 0-3 Freedom) shot just 22.9 percent from the field, 17.6 percent in the second half.
