Wilkes used an 18-6 first half run to take their largest lead of the half, 23-10. Randi Corbo had seven points during the Lady Colonels spurt which ended when Lacey Andresen drilled a three-pointer to give Wilkes the 13-point advantage with 10:10 left in the opening stanza.
Lycoming would answer with a run of their own, out-scoring Wilkes 16-2 over the next 7:05 to take their first lead. Andrea Cooper scored the final four points of the run, including a pair of free throws with 3:05 showing on the clock that gave the Warriors a 26-25 lead. Wilkes would eventually hold a 32-30 lead at intermission.
The Lady Colonels would maintain their slim lead throughout much of the second half before taking control in the final ten minutes. Lycoming closed to within 44-42 on a three-point play by Brittany Knopp with 12:14 remaining. But, that is as close as the Warriors would get the rest of the way.
Karyn Perestam countered with a traditional three-point play and Chelsey Gosse scored on a fast break to extend the Wilkes lead to 49-42 with 10:58 left. Lycoming would get to within five on two more occasions, including 71-66 on a three-pointer by Alicia Engler with 1:33 left. But, Corbo knocked down three of four free throws to help up the lead to 74-66 with 40 seconds left and put to rest any hopes for a Warriors comeback.
Andresen finished with 12 points and four steals for the Lady Colonels, who held a 57-47 rebounding edge in the game. Perestam ended the night with nine points and nine boards, while Kelly Patchell chipped in with eight points and 10 rebounds.
Lycoming was led by Knopp’s 16 tallies. Cooper chipped in with 14 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Jessica Nabholz was also in double-figures with 12 points.
