Trinity (2-2, 1-0) trailed 26-32 at the half, and Rhodes led by as many as 11 points in the opening period. The Tigers scored four points in the final 44 seconds to get to the halftime score.
In the second half, the Tigers came out of the locker room and went on an incredible 28-2 run to take complete command of the game. Rhodes hit a basket with 17:54 to play that gave them a 34-32 lead, then missed its next 11 shots (as well as four free throws) over a span of nearly 10 minutes.
Jennifer Wieman led Trinity with 12 points - all of which came in the second half. After missing all three of her shots in the first half, Wieman hit 4-6 in the second to help spark the team to victory.
Tierney Hughes finished with 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds, as well as recording three steals. Kate Dawson scored eight points, while Leda McDaniel had seven points in nine minutes off the bench.
Beth Hannon finished with seven points and three steals, and four other players scored six points in the game (Meghan Scholbe, Martha King, Lauren Andrews, and Genevieve Hurlbutt).
Trinity shot 51.5% in the second half - after hitting just 9-35 in the opening period. Rhodes was 10-22 in the first period, but just 3-24 (12.5%) in the second. The Lynx also committed 38 turnovers in the game.
Rhodes was led by Ashley Farrell's nine points, while Crystal Jessee finished with five points and a game-high eight rebounds.
Rhodes also hit just 13-26 from the foul line, while Trinity shot 80% at the charity stripe - knocking down 20-25 for the game.
Trinity will face Millsaps College at 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The game, which will cap the opening weekend of SCAC play for both teams, will be webcast live and will feature live stats updates.
