The Wolverines (1-8 overall) led 13-12 in the early going before the Bulldogs (8-3 overall) used a 15-1 run over a five and a half minute span to take a 13-point lead and never looked back. During the run Lutz tallied a team-high seven points and junior Jenna Stampf totaled four points. DSU took an 11-point edge into the locker room and led by as many as 25 points in the second half, cruising to its third straight win.
Lutz shot 8-of-18 from the field and now stands just 38 points shy of becoming the 16th player in DeSales women’s basketball history to score 1,000 career points. She now has eight double-doubles in her career. Also reaching double digits was sophomore LeighAnn Burke with 10 points and sophomore Kim Rarick with 11 points.
Stampf had a strong game off the bench with eight points and a season-high 10 rebounds and freshman Kelly Magrann (Sinking Spring, PA/Holy Name) added eight points off the pine. Sophomore Lindsey Sykes had a team-high five assists and sophomore Erica Sovak totaled eight points in the win.
The Wolverines were led by Shirelle Tingle with a team-high 13 points, Domonique Barrett recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds and Heather Kennedy tallied 10 points to round out the double figure scorers.
